Global Consultation · 2026

Your voice
matters.

Help shape the ethical and moral guardrails for AI.

Artificial Intelligence is reshaping societies worldwide, influencing community cohesion, human dignity and spiritual life.

I · The Consultation

The Global Consultation.

As part of the Faith-AI Covenant initiative, the Interfaith Alliance for Safer Communities (IAFSC) and Precognition are convening religious leaders, scholars and faith-based practitioners from across the globe to explore how faith communities can help guide AI's future.

Throughout 2026, global roundtables and survey insights will contribute to shared principles and voluntary commitments that balance two imperatives: advancing technological innovation while safeguarding the sanctity of human dignity. The Faith-AI Covenant will be formally launched in Abu Dhabi in 2027.

II · Why It Matters

Why your contribution matters.

This global consultation provides an opportunity for diverse theological voices to help shape a shared understanding of how AI should be developed and deployed, ensuring emerging technologies are grounded in moral values and centred on human dignity.

Insights from the consultation will directly inform:

01 · Strategic reports

Responses are synthesised into the reports that frame the Covenant's priorities.

02 · Future research

The gaps this consultation surfaces set the agenda for the research that follows.

03 · Faith–AI roundtables

Your perspective shapes the questions put to leaders at the 2026 roundtables.

04 · The Faith–AI Covenant

Everything gathered this year leads towards the Covenant, launched in Abu Dhabi in 2027.

III · Who Should Participate

Every tradition. Every region.

The consultation is open to faith leaders, religious scholars, faith-based organisation representatives and spiritual community stewards across all traditions and regions.

No institution is too small and no tradition too distant. Your perspective can help ensure faith communities have a voice in shaping the principles that guide AI's future.

IV · The Inquiry

What the consultation explores.

We are seeking your wisdom, perspectives and guidance across five key areas.

01

Awareness & Adoption

How communities are currently engaging with emerging AI tools: what is already in use, by whom, and with what understanding of its consequences.

02

Social Cohesion Risks

The impact of algorithmic polarisation, synthetic disinformation and deepfakes on the trust that holds communities together.

03

Spiritual Authority

Ethical boundaries around AI acting as a substitute for pastoral care or moral advice, and what must remain human.

04

Moral Red Lines

Essential ethical principles and non-negotiable boundaries for technology developers, named clearly enough to be acted upon.

05

Institutional Action

Proactive steps faith communities can take to safeguard human dignity, within their own institutions and beyond them.

V · Take Part

Share your perspective.

Add your voice to the Faith-AI Covenant before the roundtable programme closes.

The survey takes around ten minutes. Responses are gathered throughout 2026 and feed directly into the roundtable programme and the final Covenant.
